This is your opportunity to go deeper inside yourself to connect, explore, process and emerge transformed, ready to embrace the most profound journey of your lifetime: the role of mother. In this series we use movement, art, writing, yoga, breath, meditation, guided imagery and ritual to:

  • Embody pregnancy and birth as a sacred rite of passage
  • Explore personal and cultural beliefs about birth and mothering
  • Discover how thoughts and feelings effect birth
  • Prepare for the demands of labor from the inside out
  • Approach labor from a place of inner strength and healing
  • Enter into mothering mindfully, grounded, centered and confident
  • Tap into your innate birthing wisdom and mother's intuition
  • Make connections with other expecting mothers

This is an integrative approach to birthing preparation inspired by yogic tradition, cutting edge research in pre/perinatal psychology, the Halprin Life/Art process, Hypnobirthing® and Birthing from Within® and The Work® of Byron Katie.

Space is limited. Register by calling Rebekah at (916) 505-7175.
Be sure to leave your contact information so that we can send you directions.

This workshop is facilitated by Rebekah Lake. Rebekah has worked in the field of mind-body integration for over decade. After attending the BFA dance program at CalARTs, Rebekah wanted something deeper. It was a workshop with Dance Therapy pioneer Anna Halprin that inspired her to further explore dance as a healing art as well as a performing art. Rebekah went on to complete the Level 1 Halprin Life/Art process training with Daria Halprin at the Tamalpa Institute. Rebekah is a yoga instructor, registered with Yoga Alliance and a childbirth educator. Rebekah currently teaches prenatal yoga and movement based birthing classes where she guides expecting women to use their own somatic experience as a tool to “move” out of fear and into a place of personal power as they prepare for the “Dance of Birth”. Rebekah has birthed two sons and has a profound respect for birthing for what it is: bringing forth another soul into the human experience.
